ABOUT

home

Cerris (Keh-ris) Morgan-Moyer (she/her) is an actor, audiobook narrator and tarot reader.  With a Celtic foundation (Cornish by birth, with Welsh and Irish ancestry - and a North American mother), Cerris is a dual citizen of the UK and the USA and works seamlessly in both markets.

Cerris trained in theatre at Central School of Speech and Drama in London, received a BA from Sarah Lawrence College in New York, worked in theatre in NYC and regionally and now divides her time between Los Angeles and the UK, active in television, film, narration, audio dramas (LA Theatreworks) and theatre.

Born in Cornwall, UK Cerris grew up in a converted Chapel a few feet from the sea. Her playground was the beach, the cliffs and her imagination. Aged six, she entertained an unknown guest with a lengthy and elaborate puppet show. That guest turned out to be director Norman Stone, who cast and directed her  in a film later that year: “A Different Drummer”, the BBC biopic of Cornish poet Jack Clemo. From that point forward, Cerris knew her life would involve much more of this magical work; she hasn’t stopped story-telling since!

Audiobook narration is a natural extension to her foundation in acting. Cerris was born with her nose in a book and growing up in the Cornish countryside without a TV, never extracted it. It was written in the stars that she’d choose to lock herself in a padded room with a good book and a microphone, bringing vocal range, playful intuition, a strong imagination and love of characters to her narrations.

Historical and literary fiction, magical realism and psychological thrillers are her happy place. Cerris is particularly drawn to female identifying bildungsroman. She adores getting swept away into epic adventure stories and her dexterity with accents is well-suited to far-reaching, swashbuckling tales from all eras.

Spiritual growth fuels the foundation of Cerris’ life and work. She began reading Tarot in her twenties in NYC and after many years of practicing community support among fellow artists, healers and travelers, eventually began reading Tarot for a larger community. There are so many ways to be of service and Cerris is passionate about empowering others with a connection to their own inner wisdom. Check out that part of her work here.

In addition to her fulfilling life as an actor, narrator and tarot reader, Cerris is a forever lover and student of the French language, a linguaphile in general, a travel junkie, a book-a-holic, loves her pup and two cats, knitting, cooking vegan feasts, gardening, being in nature, staring at the sea or into a fire, and connecting with community elders.

VOICE OVER RECORDING & COACHING

Although I had years of technique and training as a foundation for my voiceover career, I had to learn the hard way how to set up an industry standard home booth and learn engineering and editing so I could compete in today's market. So I teach others to do the same without breaking the bank! Tech coaching, performance coaching or both. All at $2/minute.

ON CAMERA SELF TAPING & COACHING

"Before taking class with Cerris, the voice over world felt very vast and overwhelming. After just day one, I felt the fog lift. By the end of the full session, I had a total grip on the world, and felt I knew clearly what next step to take. The class went beyond my expectations -- I had no idea the scope of differences and nuances between genres within the voice over sphere, and now I do. Additionally and perhaps most importantly for me, I have a clear understanding of the tech side, making recording feel like a fun task instead of a daunting one. I absolutely recommend this class to my fellow actors -- It's the perfect launching pad into the voice over space. You'll leave the session with a new community of people within the world. Also -- Cerris is the BEST -- her wealth of knowledge is formidable and her kind and joyful approach to teaching makes class FUN."

Katey Zouck, actor

“I was amazed at how much I learned in just one session. Cerris really took me out of my own mental constraints, increased my range and got me more into the mind of my character. Cerris is highly recommended for anyone that's seeking some acting coaching. She's gifted at it.”

Tomek Fior, performer

“Cerris has taken our son’s VO career to the next level in all areas: confidence, skills and range.  She also helped us set up our home-recording area and taught us how to record auditions.  My son’s agent is over the moon and says we’re now on the short-list for network clients!!”

Nina, parent

“I took a coaching lesson with Cerris regarding understanding Audacity to do a voice over audition: I highly recommend her. She is caring, compassionate and has in-depth knowledge on how a professional voiceover should be performed. I would recommend her sincerely to new and seasoned professionals.”
